Walk in Wisdom

Great lesson today at church.

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.
Ephesians 5:15-21

Back to work tomorrow, after a nice 4 day break. Gotta earn money for scuba some how...

Family Sunday

It was great having everyone together for church and lunch today. In total we had about 4 hours today with everyone together. Those times are becoming more rare as every day passes. I enjoy that time together so very much.

On the eating... I ate too much this week. The scale is back up. It will be up for the weigh-in tomorrow. Eat too much and the scale goes up, eat less and the scale goes down. You think it would be simple...

Bye-Bye Nose Splints

I'm so happy that in just about an hour I get these lousy nose splints removed. They are stitched in, so some more healing may be in order. It'll be worth it. It's a total pain in the "nose" having them in there for the past 8 days.

I have been "compensating" for my nasal misery by eating some junk this week. I need to stop that quick. Of course I'm going to a Christmas party tonight. "Hopefully" I'll be too miserable from the de-splinting to enjoy the food too much.

The Most Amazing Thing

Well, we just got back from the High School Orchestra Concert. To our great surprise, it featured our daughter, Kelsey, on three different instruments. Over the course of the evening she played the piano, violin, and cello. She was amazing! This is just one day after we saw her perform with the Wind Ensemble, playing several different percussion pieces. She's one very talented young lady. We're very proud of her and her sisters. They make it easy.

270.2

I'm still home today. I tried going out to the beach to do some shark tooth hunting, but I got cold, wet, and dizzy after a short while, so I'm back at home now. I've not taken any pain meds today. If I can keep that up all day, I'll be back to work tomorrow.

The scale is back down to where it was two weeks ago. I just need to keep this downward trend going.

Home Alone

Katie & Kristen just left for the drive back to UMBC. They have finals to finish, but are completely done with the semester by Wednesday. Barb & Kelsey are at Awana. I chose not to go tonight. I made it to church this morning by not taking any pain meds this morning, but within just a couple of hours I needed to start them again (I guess I'm a wuss) and they make me too dull to be around the kids. So, I'm home alone.

I really like being around my family much more than being alone. I'm not at all sure that they agree with that preference, but I know that it's very true for me. Often, I'm quite the butthead to be around, but thankfully they still stick with me. I sure do love them.

I'm not sure that I can say that eating is going well. The fact is that since the surgery, my eating has been minimal. I think the meds cut my appetite and also, the location of the stitches makes it painful to take a bite of anything. I tried to eat a sandwich for lunch today and I actually had to cut it into small bites with a knife and fork. That all together, along with mindful eating the first half of the week, will lead to the numbers being down tomorrow.

I think I'll still be home from work tomorrow. I can't drive, or I guess think very well, while taking the meds, so hopefully, I'll be done with them tomorrow and can go back to work on Tuesday. Friday, I'll be back at the hospital to get the splints unsutured from within my nose. Yummy.

Surgery Tomorrow

Well, tomorrow I get my little deviant of a septum fixed. I must admit, I'm not looking forward to it. Although, if there's a chance that it is the cause of my ear pain, then, let's do it! I must be there at 7:45am for the 9:45 procedure. I should be in recovery by noon and back home later in the day. After a night of "sleeping" upright, I get to go back to the Dr on Friday to have the packing removed. Oh, joy!

Anyway, eating is going well today. One more day on the good side.

2008 Christmas Letter

Here is a link to our

2008 Kreider Family Christmas Letter

Enjoy!

On the eating front... 'tis the Season to dream up excuses for not eating properly. I was just plain stupid and brain-dead when it came to eating this week. I sure hope it's not actually possible to gain 10 pounds in one week, but that's what the scale showed this morning. I need to just knock myself in the head sometimes. Oh well, today is a new day and I have a major dive trip in 5 weeks that I need to lose some weight for. I'm getting a new 5 mil wetsuit for that trip and I sure don't want to blow out the seams on it. More later...

270.0

So, the eating plan continues to go well. Down 3.2 pounds this week. Going back to work today was a little tough after being off for 5 days, but oh well, gotta pay for diving some how.
